Pro Series earplugs are custom-made using soft medical-grade silicone.

They have a range of filters which give varying amounts of sound attenuation (reduction) depending on your needs.

The filters can be removed and swapped for other filters in the PRO range for different sound environments or hearing protection needs. The ability to change the filters gives you complete control over your protection with just a single set of ear moulds.

For Musicians

Pro plugs allow musicians to stay within the safe limits of noise while remaining engaged with the performance. The musician earplugs have a flat frequency response, especially for the 10 and 15 dB filters.

For other noise protection

Proplugs can also be used for motorsport and industrial noise. Pro plugs have a vented cavity, which means there is less occlusion, and it is more comfortable to speak while wearing them.

Filters available include the following attenuation levels:

  • 10 dB  – singers and acoustic performers – a subtle.
  • 15 dB – vocalists, orchestral and acoustic musicians.
  • 17 dB – Best suits amplified musicians, DJ’s, vocalists, sound engineers, clubbers and gig-goers (more attenuation in the higher frequencies).
  • 20 dB – some drummers, motorsport and industrial uses.
  • 26 dB – as well as by sound engineers, amplified musicians, drummers and venue staff.
  • 27 dB – Used in extreme industrial environments and motorsports.
  • 31 dB – Tested to the AS/NZS 1270 standards as Class 5. Used in extreme industrial environments.
  • Pro Impulse – The filter gives a constant noise reduction of approximately 15dB; this increases to a maximum of 33dB when in response to a sudden loud noise.

The process of getting your earplugs

Filtered Earplugs that protect your hearing but still let you enjoy and feel the music. They aim to have a flat frequency response so music is not distorted by being attenuated more at some frequencies than others.

Choose between the 16DB  or 19DB level of hearing attenuation (protection).

Sleep Custom Ear Plugs /product/sleep-custom-ear-plugs/ Sun, 25 Nov 2018 20:18:50 +0000 /?post_type=product&p=995 Sleep plugs fit nicely into your canal so they are comfortable to lie on. People usually get custom earmoulds for reasons of comfort and ease of use. They may, or may not, attenuate (reduce) more sound than well-fitted foam earplugs. This is because the attenuation of foam earplugs is variable depending on your ear canal

Sleep plugs fit nicely into your canal, and so they are comfortable to lie on. Custom made earplugs work well for people who have difficulty either getting foam earplugs into their ears or keeping them there.

Colour: They come in clear silicon as standard, but you can choose from a range of other colours for an extra $10 per earplug.

You will need to make an appointment to come into the clinic so we can make impressions for your ear canals. These get sent off and made into custom earplugs for you.

PLEASE EMAIL US TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOUR IMPRESSIONS [email protected]

Once we have the shape of your ears on file, we will not need to make further ear impressions for another 2-3 years (after that your ear canal shape may change, and the fit will not be so good). Therefore if you lose an earplug, just let us know and we can get a replacement made and sent out to you.
